Welcome to my first official professional blog page. This is for all readers, including friends, classmates, co-workers, jobs, etc. If you don’t know my name is Amanda 22 years old born on June 22, 1993 (Cancer/Water sign) and raised in Brooklyn/Queens. Particularly, I grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn and Elmhurst/Astoria, Queens.
Park Slope is one of the best neighborhoods, I have memories of and is so special too because of the overall community. Being that everyone from Park Slope comes from such a diverse background you get to experience a different customs from different parts of the world. Queens is pretty much the same diverse selection of people within the community. The neighborhoods I grew up in consist a mix of Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Ecuadorian, Dominicans, Bengali, West Indians, Chinese, Italians you name it…
I started to find out who I was or wanted to be around my pre-teen years when I was 11-13 years old. While in Middle School, I discovered that I loved to act and play guitar. At 12 years old I learned about theater production and was involved in short plays and performed a monolog. As for music, I learn how to play beginner oldies and performed a whole musical operetta “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”. From that point on I knew that when I grow up I wanted to continue on playing music, maybe become a songwriter (because I personally cannot sing very well) or become tech crew in the film industry.
Through High School, I gave up on my hobbies for music and theatre and focused more on college prep and becoming a pre-school teacher because I thought that was the quickest and easiest route to a career. I like kids, but becoming a teacher isn’t my dream. I kind of wasted money on those classes, but I am striving to believe that I am supposed to go with the flow until I find what is right for me.
I am in now in college pursuing digital art and web development hoping that in the next 4 years I can incorporate online business within my passion for film and music. My main goal is to continue on this path of media technology and work as hard as I could imagine so that I can reach my dream of becoming an official artist that inspires humanity around the world. My dream is to relate to anyone and everyone that has a dream and feels like they will never make it or can’t find a passion or purpose. I hope to inspire young adults like me that if you work hard to reach your life’s passion/goals you will find ultimate happiness within your soul.
Good Luck to anyone who is going through the same life process,
